What a busy week it has been. We’ve had friends visiting, I had a website to launch, and another site to start coding. By yesterday I was really anxious to get my cameras out, so that’s what I did. I started off the day by shooting from Rocky Point, then I swam out to Pupukeas and Gas Chambers with the GoPro3 for a couple of hours. Late in the afternoon I shot some more from the point, and swam out just before sunset at Pupukeas.
I’m still playing around with the GoPro3 Black Edition to find the best settings. In my first swim session I started out shooting video at 1440, 48 frames a second. I then switched to shooting photos in burst mode at 10 shots a second. Why the two different modes? The first two times I shot in the water I tried burst mode, but missed a lot of shots due to the half second delay. With video, I don’t have that issue and I figured the screen grabs would be great quality. Unfortunately, the screen grabs weren’t what I anticipated so none of them made the cut on here.
For my last swim of the evening, I switched back to burst mode, but at 30 shots/3 seconds. On the plus side, I didn’t miss a shot. Downside was that I killed my battery in less than an hour…. I’ve only shot from the water a few times now so I’m still learning through a bit of trial and error. Hope you enjoy the shots below!
